September 22, 2022. Presentation of membership certificates to recent new members Tillie Young, Jeff Driggs, and Monika Fleckenstein. So great to see our club growing!
On April 7, 2022, our club collected 4 SUV's full of clothing items, school supplies, and food for the Highland High Family Support program. After delivering the items, members took a tour of the various locations in the school for supporting students, some homeless, others from low-income families. We saw the food pantry, the clothing room, the school supply room, and the laundry and shower facility for homeless students.
In addition to these facilities, various grocery stores bring food donations every morning for pickup by students and parents. A couple of days in the week other organizations provide hot meals. The intent is to ensure students get food including on the weekends so they are nutritionally fit.
This is all beyond what some of our older members ever experienced.
We have a new mailing address for the Rotary Club of Sugar House.

Since 1910, the Rotary Motto has been “Service Above Self.” The Object of Rotary is to “encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.” Rotary is the largest service organization in the world.
Rotary strives to achieve it’s objective of “Service Above Self” through activities in five primary areas. These are often referred to as The Five Avenues of Service. The Fifth and newest Avenue of Service was recently approved by Rotary International, and is called "New Generations".

Message From Our President
Welcome to Sugar House Rotary Club's website - the sweetest club in Rotary! Our club #1085 in Rotary District # 5420 is one of 46 Rotary clubs in the state of Utah. Sugar House Rotary club is composed of 36 very active business and professional men and women.
The motto of Rotary International is "Service Above Self", and our goal as a club is to show through how we live our lives that we truly practice that motto. We will achieve our goals this year and have fun by working together and by cooperating with other clubs. Our service projects will represent the Five Avenues of Service - and traditionally, we are one of the leading clubs in the district to do so.
Our weekly meetings are held in the Forest Dale golf course club house (located at 2375 South 900 East) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Each week, our programs include informative speakers who keep our club up to date and involved in our community. We want to do all we can to improve the unique and historic community of Sugar House, where we live and do business.
We encourage prospective members to join with us in fellowship and good will as we work toward our goals of service in our community and the world. The Rotary theme for 2020-2021, as announced by our incoming International President, Holger Knaack is "Rotary Opens Opportunities". We will strive as a club to indeed become more engaged in Rotary projects and thus see meaningful changes in the lives of those we serve. We invite you to inquire and join with us in this quest.
Brandon Briggs, President
The Rotary Club of Sugar House, 2022-2023
